Claypot Fun + Online Reviews

I was glad to receive my sis and bro-in-laws’, Jamie and Victor’s, help in loading one child off me. They took Kaitlyn to watch Disney on Ice. Vic and Sis picked Kaitlyn up at 2pm. At the same time, we agreed to meet for dinner at Claypot Fun at the ECP Big Splash Playground.

I heard from Kaitlyn that GuGu bought donut for her and she has really enjoyed herself. Sis also told me that Kaitlyn was really good as well. She didn’t make them buy any toys for her. That’s because before she left, I reminded her not to bug Sis to buy anything… if not… we will not take her there again.

Kaitlyn was really excited about the trip. She picked her clothes the day before and even packed her own bag. I don’t know what she has put in her bag until I saw these pictures. Of course the pictures were provided by Sis.

In the evening, we met up at ECP’s Claypot Fun together with Gerald, Xueli and my parents-in-laws. The moment Kaiden saw Victor, he was really excited and gave him a big kiss and a big hug.

We were given a seat outside the walkway. It was breezy therefore we did not really mind about it. We ordered a few stuff. But for the kids, they could only have frog leg claypot as Kaitlyn cannot take most of the stuff on the menu due to her eczema.

The utensils used were so much like the olden days. The food is not bad I would say. Instead of the normal black sauce, Claypot Fun uses their special mixed sauce for the claypot rice. The pork liver and the fermented vegetables were also very nice.

Kaiden loved the rice that he ate three bowls all by himself. I felt so relieved that I did not have to feed him and Kaitlyn was very cooperative though she was grouchy after her nap.

See the difference in her? Happy on the way to the show, Disney on Ice, on the right and grouchy from her nap on the left. She did not even want to face the camera. 🙂

Sis and Vic, really nice of them to take Kaitlyn out. I like the picture which Kaiden and Sis took. Kaiden is so demure looking. Cannot see any devilish in him. LOL

and compared to the one I took with him ….LOL

Oh my, the gals are in ES clothings except me… Shame on me. 😦

What I wore

As seen from above, I wore a very simple outfit, white spag top and skinny. However, the look was changed by pairing with a military style jacket. The jacket was bought from BKK during one of my purchasing trip for ES. The sleeves are a bit long. Should have altered it. I am not really a jacket person, so took the opportunity of the cooling weather on that day to put it on.

Online Reviews

Agneselle is not a blogshop I would usually shop. This maybe due to the sizing of their clothes. The model, Pei Ling, is really skinny, about UK 6 and they actually made the clothes according to her sizing.  The Grecian top comes in the dress version as well which I have it in lovely blue. The zipper is not really smooth and person with bigger ribcage may have difficult wearing it. It does squeeze a little of armpit fats. 😦 However, nothing could stop me from getting it. Highly raved for and so pretty.Just a note, their clothes are also usually sold out with 2 minutes. One of the highly sought blogshops with all self manufactured pieces.

Another piece from Bonitochico. I am basically a BC fan. Love their clothes as the model has the same sizing as me. Love this top very much. The flutter sleeves and oversized covered all my flaws. 😉 The only draw back is the sheernees of the top. Maybe that is why an inner is provided. The top also comes with a belt; however, I do not really like the belt and used my own belt instead.

A top from Hollyhoque. The top does not really gave me a ‘wow’ feel as compared to the BC oversized top. I must admit that the model, Joyce, carried the top very well and thus tempted me to buy it. It’s a square neck top and colour definitely is not purple as stated in the website. It should be kind of maroon or liver red. A very comfortable piece and great for casual wear.

My Half a Day Getaway + Anna’s Creations

All thanks to my mother-in-law, I managed to sneak away from the kids for a day. These 2 kids have started to drive me crazy especially now when it’s the holidays. Everyday, they would be bugging me for this and that. For one minute, they will be so buddy like glue that they stick together. Another minute, fighting, pinching and biting just because of a small conflict.

This morning, I did something which I regretted very much after doing it. I actually slapped my dear son. How could I possibly lift my hand to do that? I must have gone crazy. I was changing and getting ready to drive the kids to my MIL place. Suddenly I heard shouting and crying. Apparently, Kaitlyn tried to pull the playhouse to one corner which Kaiden was happily playing. Kaiden told her no… but Kaitlyn being obstinate, ignored his nos… and started pushing the playhouse away. Kaiden got so upset that he pinched Kaitlyn’s face, bit her fingers and started beating her. I got so angry when I heard from Kaitlyn that Kaiden bit her. I have told him so many times that he shouldn’t bite his sister. Yet, a child is still a child. His defence mechanism is only bite, beat or pinch.

Next time if something like this happen again, I should walk away from their quarrels and calm myself down before approaching them. I need to practise more discipline and try to restrain myself from flaring my anger.

Nevertheless, the moment I turned around, Kaiden started laughing and sister hugging him. Then they started playing together again. Sometimes I really don’t know to be angry with them or to laugh at them.

My half day getaway, the only place I needed to go was to grab my accessories making materials. I took an MRT down to Chinatown. People’s Park Center is the place where I usually buy my materials from. The one that I most frequent in is the Lai Guang. They got a lot of varieties of accessories making materials. Most of the items are at Buy 1 Get 1 Free except the swarovski crystals.

Another one that I usually will go is the Shino Beads. They got a very unique way of selling their beads. It’s by weight. Which means you pay for the weight of the beads, just like buying pork. LOL

There is another one called Golden Dragon. I usually will make that as my last stop as by then, I would have gotten most of my stuff. The shop offers knitting classes. So for anyone who are interested, you can find out more about their course from here.

Wanna look at what I have bought? Check them out below.

Bought some pearls which included the glass and swarovski crytals pearl. Love to put them in my accessories. They just make the whole ring, earrings or necklace that touch of feminine.  Of course some stuff that I need to restock, like wire and glue. I needed the earring stands and ring stand for my rental box in LinLin Lattice House. Will let tell you more of my rental box later. 😉 Last but not least, I need flowers, more clay flowers for my artwork.

Lastly this was what I wore out today, Love the top that I got it in white and navy. Remove my headache of accessorizing. Bought from HeySugar some time ago during their sales. Seems like they have stop launching new collection for very long time in their website. 😦

Finally, I have completed my princess charms. Below are some of my stuff that I will be launching at EverydayShopper soon. Kindly take note that accessories will launch in the livejournal instead of the .sg website as we are going through a revamp. 🙂

If you like the accessories that I have made, you can also visit LinLin Lattic House at Toa Payoh Central, Blk185 #01-324 (Nearer to TPY Library) to view the items. 🙂 The lady boss is very pretty wo…

Kaitlyn is 5!!!

Time really flies, I can remember when Kaitlyn just arrived, she was just a small baby. Now she is a 5 year old gal who can express her thoughts and wants. Come to think of it, most of the time, I would lose out to her nonsensical requests.

On the 9th, we celebrated her birthday at my mother-in-law’s place. She volunteered to do the cooking. I am glad she did cos I was real busy with the preparation of the goodie bags. MIL told me all she cooked was chicken wings, nuggets, hotdogs and fried noodles. When I reached her place at 6 plus, to my horror… spread of dishes on the table and she handled all by herself. Invincible mother. LOL. By the time I reached there, most of the relatives have also arrived.

With the good food and happy faces, the whole night just passed by so quickly.

Soon it was time for the cake cutting. I bought the cake from Emicakes, Toa Payoh. Premium durian. Just the look of the cake was enough to make us drool. Of course the person who was most excited was Kaitlyn. She even volunteered to put the candles on the cake. But in the end, it was Kaiden who blew out the candles.

Kaitlyn is a weird child. She does not like us to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ song. Everytime, we tried, she would cry. As usual, this year, she did not want a birthday celebration in class. All she wanted was to give out the goodie bags. With that thought, I decided to prepare a better goodie bag for her classmates.

Theme? I couldn’t decide. All I knew was I wanted to make the nice little cookie sticks with personalised names. I got the contact from Karen and started surfing Aunty Yochana‘s beautifully baked cakes and cookies. Then the theme, Mickey and Minnie was decided. Mickey for boys and Minnie for girls. Aunty Yochana was very nice and accomodating to my last minute orders. Love the cookies so much that I had to order all our names, Jonathan, Anna, Kaitlyn and Kaiden.

With the theme, I went to source out for items to put into the goodie bags, and tada, the Mickey Clubhouse books caught my eyes in Popular. Immediately bought 30 books and our dear Kaitlyn was so eager that she started packing the 1st round of goodie bags.

With that plain-looking bag, I decided to make myself busier by creating a tag and personalised name labels. The cutting was crazy but managed to clear them. 🙂

Above shows the content that were in the goodie bag.

The final product of the goodie bags, children with silver ribbons and teachers with pink ribbon. Kaitlyn did all the packing and pasting of labels. My job? Tie the ribbons. It was bad enough. Imagine, tied 33  ribbons for 2 hours plus.

And all were put nicely into this ikea bag. I am so glad I have this bag. You will know why when you see the next picture.

On the 10th, the big rain dampened my spirits. 😦

Kaiden took this pic in the car when we were on our way to Kaitlyn’s school. Nevertheless, the smile on Kaitlyn’s face still bring sunshine to me.

On this special day, Kaitlyn’s school allowed her to wear her home clothes. She chose the gown that she has prepared the day before.

We quickly stumbled ourselves to the car. Big rain with 2 kids and the big pack of goodie bag. My arduous job was to make sure that all of them were dry. How do I do that with Kaitlyn in her princess gown, Kaiden, the goodie bags and the umbrellas. Kaitlyn was nice to hold her own umbrella, Kaiden in her sister’s Disney princess raincoat. I had to bring the two kids into the school 1st, left Kaitlyn with teacher then went out to get the goodie bags with Kaiden. Kaiden was very happy to be in his raincoat and was amazed that he was dry despite the big rain.

Despite all the big hoo ha, I hope that Kaitlyn’s classmates will like the goodie bags that we have prepared for them.

Wish Kaitlyn a very Happy Birthday and may all her wishes come true.

Photoshoot Fun

Some people started asking me what is ES. EverydayShopper, aka ES, is actually a blogshop set up by my sis-in-laws, Jamie and Xueli, and myself thus JAX & partners.

It is an online blogshop selling apparels and handmade accessories done by us when we are free. All work, from purchasing, measuring, phototaking, editing, uploading to webby, liaising with customers, packing and mailing are all done by us and our partners. Each of us took up one part of the job. If not we will all peng san. LOL

We just launched our new collection last week and with all the equipment during photoshoot set-up, we took the opportunity to have some fun shots.

Adrian, my secondary friend of EPSS, a photography fanatic was really nice to guide us in our phototaking. Millions thanks to him. 🙂

Below is the picture taken by him. Love the picture below so much. Present to you our pretty ES sole model, Xueli shen shen and our little princess Kaitlyn. 🙂

Then Gerald, Jonathan’s brother, decided to have a try and this is what we got.

Finally, Jonathan, who is our photographer for the ES came up with this result,

Finally, we ended up the day with this picture below by Adrian again. So love him making us all pretty looking and natural.

P/S: Wish all of us will be as happy as seen in the pictures everyday. 🙂

Washing Grapes Effortlessly

I always have trouble washing those white powdery stuff on individual grapes or prunes. Children love grapes and to further pamper them, I would pluck them out from the stem and wash them. Worst, would up to the extend of cutting into half to take the seeds out. (That is how my children are lawfully being pampered by me. :))

Most of the time, I would just close one eye and ignore those whitish stuff that I see on the little purplish grapes until that day my mother-in-law imparted me with an amazing way of washing prunes. Most importantly, it works for grapes as well.

Materials needed: Grapes and clean wet cloth

The white powdery grapes to start with. 😦

Step 1: Rinse the grapes with water

Step 2: Place the grapes on the clean wet cloth

Step 3 & 4: Wrap the grapes with the cloth.

Step 5: This is the fun part where your children can take part in. Shake the cloth with the grapes bouncing. This step can last up to a few minutes depending on how long your children want to shake. 🙂

And tada, my clean nice grapes for my two pampered Kaitlyn and Kaiden. 🙂

Check out the before and after picture.

A day’s getaway with Jon.

Finally, a day out with hubby without the kids. The kids were ‘dumped’ at my mother-in-law’s place.

Jon has a nice massage and I have a good facial in the afternoon at Subtle Senses. It was my first time doing a diamond peel followed by a caviar treatment. Ooooo…. so pampering. Beautician said that the skin on my face is turning yellow due to the long unshed dead skin. Then asked me what do I doing for a living… Well, my answer just suited her descriptions, ‘huang lian po’. LOL

For the night, we decided to go to Aquamarine at Marina Mandarin hotel for a good buffet dinner. The place was first introduced by my sis-in-law, Jamie. The food is average, good range of seafood and local fair. They also have a sashimi counter. Dessert is the attraction with their little cakes. This time round, something new to me was the wide range of self-serving tea counter and the yummy yummy raspberry sorbet.

What can be better than a cool cup of sparkling ‘sky juice” from Aquamarine on this hot date?

Some random shots of each other.

See how good the seafood is. Oysters – Before and After.

OOTD aka Outfit of the Day

I wore this beatiful dress from Across the Bloody Universe, aka ATBU. It’s an online blogshop by 2 gals. Their clothes are usually self-manufactured. Jon loves the dress as much as I do. So loving it that I got another piece in another colour.

Clutch is from ascentee, a corila clutch in Off White that I have ordered from their 2nd backorders. Not to forget, my Hollyhoque nude heels.

Been an avid online shoppers since I stay home. Wonder if it’s good or bad.

Before we left to pick up the kids, we decided to camwhore. Just love the effect of how the lightings from the surrounding appeared in the pictures.
