Korea Day 3

Rise and shine to our Day 3. We were extremely tired the night before and slept really early. Glad that the meet up was at 8am and after which the group settled in a restaurant for breakfast.

The foursomes… Where is the 5th pair?

After breakfast, we were ferried to the Yongin Everland. The big playground that we have been telling Kaitlyn and Kaiden about. They were sure looking forward to it. But when they reached there, they were still looking for the playgound. In their eyes, they were thinking about the playground that they played in Kids Explorer but nevertheless, they did enjoy themselves. The place is outdoor and was really cold. Within 1 hour, Kaiden went into hibernating mode. We found out that once it was too cold for him to handle, he would tear and then wheeze and finally, knock out.

On their so call cable car from highland to lowland. What’s really cool was they actually just hung the stroller at the back without even keeping it.

The tulips are gorgeously, extremely…. what other words to describe? They are really very beautiful and it’s my first time seeing a tulip in it’s full bloom. Still prefers the half bloom version.

With such beautiful background, we just couldn’t stop taking pictures with the tulips. 🙂

Continuing our walk to highland, Gerald and Xueli spotted this really nice house as backdrop. The pink is so pretty.

Whatzzzz up with GuZong and Kaiden… Ohhh… imitiating Mummy and Daddy’s kissing scene for the above picture. LOL Kaitlyn’s turn to go into hibernating mode.

Throughout the trip, Jonathan and I became the least priority in Kaitlyn and Kaiden’s eyes. The whole day, they could think of was just the Gugu, GuZong, Susu and Shenshen…. The only time they were with us were during the meals and when we reached the hotel. Poor Gerald and Xueli and to think that that trip was supposedly to be their honeymoon. LOL.

Moving on, we just could not miss the carousel. This was the only ride that everyone boarded. 🙂

How can we leave the place without a family pic. 🙂

The children and adults enjoyed themselves to the fullest if not for the extremely chilling weather. For the next stop, the whole bunch of 22 people on the bus alighted outside the strawberry farm. To do what? We got the chance to handpick strawberries. Children’s first time seeing a strawberry farm and handpick them into a plastic bag. In Singapore, what they see is already pack up in punnet kind of strawberries. A great experience for them indeed.

Supposedly to be a nice picture of Victor and Jamie, but got destroyed by the cheeky Jonathan. 😦

Moving on, within 5 mins, we reached the Korean Traditional Centre where we had hands on to make Kimchi.

It was fun. Jon and I got to take turns to make cos someone got to take care of the kids. In the end, the kids were roaming around in the room. I was glad to know that the made Kimchi would be sent to the old folks home instead of throwing them away. If not really wasteful to cater to so many tourists for the experience.

On our way to the restroom, the whole place suddenly started to snow… It’s not the really big one but enough to make the kids crazy. Kaitlyn and Kaiden… trying to catch the snowflakes on their hands.

Finally it was time to get back to the hotel. Another day had ended. The long and leisure drive to Yongpyong Dragon Valley set all of us sleeping on the bus. When we finally reached and unloaded our stuff, the temperature indicator clearly stated a 2.3 degrees. The guide met us at 8.45pm for a walk to the different scenes that serial, Winter Sonata, had taken place. It was just too cold to take more pictures when the temperature dropped to a   -4.3 degrees. With the snow, the cold and the extremely quiet surrounding, we chose to walked back to the hotel for the warm that awaited us.

Day 3 ended with a small gathering at Jamie’s room. With the warm in the room, the chitchatting, the booze and the snacks… Just perfect. 🙂

Looking forward to day 4…..

ES Photoshoot + Korea Day 2

Had our first photostudio photoshoot with Gwen, our new model, for EverydayShopper. Usually we will do our photoshoot with Xueli at Jamie’s house. Of course with all the lighting set up and all. We were all quite excited about moving our shoot to a professional photostudio.

With Adrian’s help, we managed to clear our shoot within 2 hours with 20 changes of clothes.

It was really fun and an eye-opener to really see how fashion is being portray in this environment. Looking to every details of the apparel when that is the only way, buyers can see… They do not have the chance to touch and feel for online shopping: therefore, it must be to our atmost best to bring out to the customers the most accurate  information of the apparel.

Some of my personal favourites are as below.

Remember to check out EverydayShopper on 27th April at 8pm sharp. 🙂

————–

What I Wore

Decided to wear my EverydayShopper Shoulder Embellishment Dress as a top. As the material is quite thin, I do not have any problem tucking my dress into the pants. The dress is comfortable but has to wear an inner as the embellishment part is a bit heavy and will tend to ride forward.

———————-

Camwhoring again with Jonathan. Thought that it would be nice to take a picture of myself with my new colour contacts. Wearing FreshLook in Pure Hazel. My eyes just look bigger…… Jonathan totally loves it.

Korea Day 2

After we landed in Seoul, we were welcomed by our local tour guide, Leo, and our personal photographer, Steven. We were taken to the Namsan Park. All thanks to Kaitlyn and Kaiden who fell asleep on the bus, Jonathan and I were stranded and might as well stay on the bus.

Next we visited the War Memorial, exhibitions honoring the spirit of those who perished fighting on the battlefront. Took a lot of pictures of the military equipments and fighter planes.

What a dumb thing to do… Talking pictures of each other? LOL

Kaiden pics with grandpa and Jamie.

Kaitlyn… all geared up for the cold.

Can see that Kaitlyn is really happy to be out in a cold country.

Fighter planes shots….

More fighter planes shots…..

Kaiden, are you waving for a cabby? No, his gloves kept dropping out and he was trying to wave to us to tell us. 🙂

Kaitlyn joins in the fun. 🙂

Picture perfect with Jamie

1st partial family picture.

cheeky boy….. or boys…. Hee hee

Finally we left the War Memorial for our lunch… It was a buffet lunch. We were there early so the family took a short walk opposite the building. Breezing through the cold, we spotted a market. Attracted to the stuff placed in the open, we decided to explore more.

The fresh seafood or the strawberries set my mouth watering before the lunch.

Cheery Blossom planted outside a flat? When can we see that in Singapore?

Finally it was time for lunch. Jon and Kaiden having fun with his winter cap.

Kaiden’s favourite… Half face monster.

The tour also organised a skin care course at the Face Shop Academy. It was fun with all of us participating in the cleansing, toning, massage and finally mask.

The children would love to join in… but Kaiden was making way too much noise so Jonathan took him out of the room while I continued to be pretty pretty. 🙂

Take home message from the Course….

Never leave home without going through these steps: 1) Cleanse, 2) Tone, 3) Eye Cream, 4) Moisturise and finally 5) Sun Block

Oh dear, I always go without the eye cream and sun block. Even since I came back from Korea, I have rigorously done my facial routine. Every morning and night… my stay in front of the mirror has increased by half hour. No wonder there is this saying, you can’t be lazy to be pretty. 🙂

We were then given 2 hours to shop at Myongdong. The moment we stepped into Myondong, the ice cream stall caught our eyes even though everyone was feeling cold. Look at how tall the ice cream. Quite amazing to the children. Can see that all eyeing at the ice cream during photo taking and each of them just want to get their hands on it. While the children were having ice cream, the gals went into Etude House and another beauty store. Got the Laneign Sleeping Pack Mask and some masks from Etude House for myself. Then the children were tired, they felt asleep again and we were stranded at the meet-up place while sis and the rest went over to Namedaemun.

Dinner was Ginseng Chicken and managed to take some pictures outside the restaurants. 🙂

The day ended with a long drive to Mayfield Hotel in Seoul. Cold and with drizzling rain. 🙂

Cheryl’s Wedding + Korea Day 1

On 10th April, Jonathan and I attended one of my secondary school friend’s wedding. Cheryl, being away in UK most of the time with her hubby, I was really glad to see her and of course a few of my secondary school friends whom I last met, were during my wedding. Hmmmm…. that was like in 2001? Oh Jaccy, we got to meet more often. We have not seen each other for 9 years. OMG….

Debbie, despite carrying a big tummy with her attended Cheryl’s wedding as well. Mynn was real busy so couldn’t make it.

I was then given the task to arrange a gathering before Cheryl and her hubby return back to UK the following weekend. However, overwhelmed by excitment of seeing each other, I actually forgotten that I would be leaving for Korea the next day and only be back the following weekend as well. No choice Cheryl, we can only meet the next time you are back. 😦

The wedding is held in Chjimes. My first time there so was looking forward to it. Jonathan is also back in time to join me for the wedding.

Zooming our way to the wedding…… and we were early thinking that an English wedding would start on time. Singaporeans are still Singaporeans…

Love the stage and the high ceiling….

Arrival of Greg and Cheryl with the beautiful voice of Cheryl’s daddy on the stage. Cheryl’s wedding gown is gorgeous and it flew from SG to UK and from UK back to SG for the day’s event.

Jaccy’s daughter, Gillian, she is extremely beautiful and sweet. You can’t beat her mummy… she will get angry… so Debbie, you got to stop slapping Jaccy’s arm when talking to her. LOL

Managed to grab some time to camwhore during the change of plates. 🙂

How can we leave without taking a group photo…. 🙂

What I Wore

A classic piece from HerVelvetVase, the chiffon cross front dress in Lilac. Loves the front details of the dress with the cross front. Really brings out the girlish in me.  The only thing I don’t like is that it squeezes armpits fats a little. Other than that, a nice and simple dress to have in your wardrobe.

I was sick and totally knockout when I reached my mother’s place. Worst was we would be leaving Korea at night. In order to join the family of 10 for the trip, I popped as many kinds of flu medicine and went to bed the whole afternoon. Was really glad that Jonathan was around to take care of the kids while I rested.

At night, we reached the airport. Thanks to my father for driving us there. With the 2 kids going as well, we’ve got 2 big luggages. Got to pack their milk powder, diapers, anything that you can think of whether they may or may not use it during the trip.

Children were really excited about the trip and my flu also got better.

Our first time in Korea and travelling with a family of 10

Ooooo…. My first time seeing Kaiden in long sleeve turtleneck top and he looks really handsome in it. 🙂

A KIMCHI smile from Kaitlyn before we board the plane. 🙂

Crabby Blissness

Just came back from Korea and Kaitlyn is down with chicken pox. Tonnes of pictures to convert before uploading.

Before going to Korea, Jonathan and I celebrated our 15th anniversary. Anniversary of what? Remember the olden days when the boy will say… “Let’s go steady”? Hahaha, ya those were the days. On 7th April 1995, he popped this statement. Wonder if the youngsters now still use this statement…

We went to the Mellben in Toa Payoh Lorong 8 for a crab feast. We ordered the usual chilli crab and a new stuff, salted egg with cheese crab. I really love the salted egg one… Yummy esp when it was served hot.

I am such a glutton. Jonathan wanted me to take pics with him. I just can’t bear to put down the crab. LOL

What I Wore

Flattering lace top from Agneselle. It is fitting for me (UK8), so maybe a bit tight of big UK 8 and above. The waist part was a bit preggy but overall still a nice top for causal dates. The only worry is the lacy part seems flimsy so got to handle with care.

My Birthday

Thanks to Jamie and Victor, I have had a wonderful birthday celebration over the weekend. Even though Kaiden was down with a fever, Kaitlyn and he still enjoyed themselves with the other invited children.

Such a coincidence that my MIL, Xueli and my birthday fall on the same month, thus the get-together celebration ever since Xueli became part of our family. 🙂

Let the pictures do the talking.

Created this effect using photoshop

Oooo…. JAX in action again but this time round with little Candies in the pic. 🙂

Flowers prepared by MIL, she is going to start her biz in flower arrangement. Each of the birthday girl got 1 bouquet. Hm….. it has been such a long time since I received flowers. 🙂

The little children who appeared at the party and not forgetting the lovable twins. 🙂

———-

What I Wore

Love this top from Hollyhoque to the max. The Kimono comes with a black inner. The outer is a chiffon top with batwing sleeve. Simple and classic. Gives that romantic feel even though I matched with denim shorts.

Sovereignty

Jonathan was msning with me. Then he suddenly remembered that I posed a question in my blog.

Given a choice, would you want me to be beautiful by day and ugly by night or vice versa?

Jonathan said this, “I will wana u to be beauty in the day,…
cos in the day u will meet ppl… then u will not feel bad.
when in the nite.. u onli and me… and i love u for what u r.. and not hw u look like.”

So touching.

However, is this the answer your boyfriend or your husband gave you?

A poem set in the 15th century (medieval period) retelling in the form of The Wedding of Sir Gawain and Dame Ragnelle.

King Arthur was given a task to discover what thing is it all woman desires most. He asks all the villagers that question and none could give him the answer. A hideous woman whom he met in the forest strikes a bargain with him. She will let him know the answer if King Authur could promise her a knight in return. To save the king, Sir Gawain sacrifices himself and marries the hideous maid. On the wedding night, the hideous woman becomes beautiful and gives him the choices mentioned above, to be beautiful by day and ugly by night or vice versa

Sir Gawain was stranded at first, then tells her she can choose for herself, giving her the free will, and thus breaks the spells of ugliness that binds her.

Poem adapted from ‘The Marriage of Sir Gawain”, <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Marriage_of_Sir_Gawain>

A touching and deeply etched story in my memory when I first read it in my English Literature critque class.

Soverignty is what woman desires. Do you have it?

Even though Jonathan didn’t give me the free will to choose, I am still glad that he made the choice for me taking into consideration my feelings when I am facing many people and not minding the fact that I am ugly when I am with him at night. 🙂

Thank you for loving who I am and also what I am.

Philosophy

A: Next time when I grow up, I do not want to give birth to babies.

B: Why?

A: Ai… got to make milk, very tired. Got to pat the baby to sleep… very tired… got to carry the baby… very tired.

B: dotz…… and laugh.

From the philosophy of a 5 year old, Kaitlyn

————–

Got my new loot from The Design Closets. She opened the package and brightened up.

K: Wah mum, this is a beautiful piece.

Mum touch the material and took a second look.

M: Looks ok.

Kaitlyn went out and came in. Held up the romper.

K: Mum, this is really very nice. I like it very much.

Held the romper to her body.

K: and mum, it fits me just right.

Mum almost fainted.

Another comical scene with Kaitlyn and Mum

—————

Try asking your boyfriend or husband this:

If given a choice, and only one choice, would you prefer to have me beautiful by day and ugly by night or vice versa?

What answer do you hope to get from them?
