Great Finds: Lawry’s, The Prime Rib

Oh my! Oh my! Definitely gonna share this great find with my friends. All thanks to my lovely buddy buddy Angie. I have had a wonderful dinner with her at Lawry’s, The Prime Rib on Monday (which was why I missed the Working Monday posts) 😦

I downloaded the Lawry’s Sg iphone application. The application is user friendly and I did my reservation via the application. Within 24 hours, I received my confirmation. I could even look through the menu via my app to see what I want to have.

Source: itunes, Lawry’s Sg app

I ordered the Prime Rib dinner in English cut beef. The dinner comes with the Spinning Bowl Salad, Yorkshire Pudding (my love), Idaho Mashed Potatoes and Whipped Cream Horseradish. Angie ordered the same as mine just that her beef is single cut while mine is thinly sliced into three pieces.

The Spinning Salad. It’s good with the recommended pepper.

The salivating medium rare beef in three thinly sliced pieces. All soaked with the yummy gravy. I am not really a beef person but I must say this is really good!!!! Not to mention, the Yorshire Pudding. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Thumbs up!!!

It’s actually my first time in Lawry’s and I really had a good experience, in terms of ambience, food and service.

What’s more!!! I only paid for one set of Prime Rib dinner instead of two!! 🙂 {LOL, I sounded so excited.}

Just download the Lawry’s SG Application (FREE) then there is a 1-for-1 promotion for lunch and dinner right now under the ‘PROMOS’ tab. Just show it to the reception and they will record the special 15 digit code from your app.

*** NOTE: only click on the claim coupon only when you are with the recep. It’s a one time code.

Working Monday – Jumping Pearls and Randomness

How was everyone’s weekend? It’s working Monday again. I have not done much on weekend except to relief a half day class for a friend. Managed to get a pack of Garett Popcorn. I must say it was pop-licious. Totally love the caramel which melts in my mouth. I had a wonderful evening with Jonathan all thanks to lovely mother who helped to babysit the children. I took the opportunity to visit Old Airport Road’s raving for “老伴” beancurd. The beancurd is sweet-licious. Dad said, the beancurd is suited more to youngsters. He still prefers the traditional kind. The beancurd is really soft, just like jelly. No wonder Dad does not really like it. Just one weekend, I managed to taste two heavenly food. Feels so blessed. 🙂

Mum and Dad have left for Bangkok for their lovey-dovey trip. I too wanted a getaway with Hub so much. 😦

Monday was not really blue for me. I managed to create three earrings using mother of pearl for listing.

Breaking Dawn

I love the use of 14k gold plated findings and charm on this pair of earrings while gold filled wire to attach the pearl to the charm. The whole creation reminds me of the break of dawn where the glistening sun arises from the blue horizon. Each day is full of hope. 🙂

Another two pairs were of the same design except that they are in different colours. They are simple yet dainty, elegant yet versatile for everyday use.

Quiescent – Opal and Rose Bronze in 925 silver findings

Quiescent – Nude Pink in 925 silver

As compared to my previous creations, I have used better quality materials like 14k gold plated and 925 silver. These materials have better tarnish resistance as compared to rhodium thus a hefty price tag too. 🙂 In another words, these can be kept for a longer period of time and thus really nice to give as keep sake.

These items are available at ChippyChipDovey {shop}.

Did a customisation for mustache ring and necklace. They are still available for sale. 🙂

Still stuggling with a bridal customisation for her bridesmaids. My neck is getting nowhere waiting for my materials to arrive from US. (So eager to complete it that I may even start replacing other materials if it’s still not arriving anytime.) 😦

Mother-in-law is sick and I dropped by her place in the afternoon. When I reached home, it was already about 4pm as the children wanted to visit NTUC. I managed to whip up a meal in half and hour and is really proud of myself. I got to really thank my Philip Air Fryer and conventional microwave oven. Cheeros to them 🙂

A dish which I have always wanted to try. All thanks to Kaiden who is learning stem vegetable in school now. To show him how an asparagus looks like, I bought a bunch of it.

It’s the season of Korean grapes again. Kaitlyn loves the grapes.

So much for randomness!!!

Working Monday

Maybe I shall declare Monday as working monday. 🙂 Ever since Kaiden joined Kaitlyn in her school. I have gotten more free time in the morning to do nitty gritty stuff on my accessories. Stuff including taking pictures of the items, photo editing and with bonus, able to list some of the items for sale.

Took the chance to visit NTUC just now and saw some cute cookware for sale and I could not resist putting them into my basket. New background for my photoshoot. 🙂 A high tea cup for my long earrings and a heart shape dish for laying the accessories. Who can resist a heart shape dish? 🙂

Since I declared today as Working Monday, I definitely have some new stuff coming up. 🙂

Firstly would be the colourful chrysanthemum rings. Breaking away from the usual antique copper, silver or gold ring base, I chose the coloured enamel ring bases to match these lovelies. Ring bases are imported from USA, thus less commonly seen on the market. A swarosvki crystal flatback stud is added to the center of the chrissy for a more classy look. 🙂

And my pick, definitely the vibrant yellow chrissy with the sea green ring base. 🙂 LOVE IT!!!

Secondly, are the little flowers clips, Cheryl. They are sold in set of 3.

Kaitlyn loves the yellow. 🙂

With the same type of flowers, I created headbands which are suitable for newborns and babies. 🙂 Somehow, Kaitlyn prefers the headband version. 🙂

They are available in four colours.

I will be listing these items whenever I have time in between at  ChippyChipDovey {shop}. Definitely will make sure all items are up by the end of today. Happy Shopping!!!!

I am a Woman…

Is it man’s instinct to protect a woman? Not only the closest women in his life but including all women? A son will protect his mother. A husband will protect his wife. A father will protect his daughter. Somehow they are all natural to me. How about protecting or standing up for other women? Is it natural too?

I am pretty curious about the psychology effect of how men would protect women and did a research on it. Men have somehow priortise the amount of protection they would allocate for the women in his life.

There is this question to the man you love that some may see it as a joke.

Question: If your mum and I fell into the sea, who would you save first?

At this point of time, men would rationalise who is more important to him. Most men would disregard the question and answer as such thing will never happen. But to the women who asked, of course, she wants to be the one to be saved.

What is woman with regards to man? Does she really want to be sheltered and protected?

Through my research, I encountered a story, a beautiful story.

It said that Woman is created from Man’s rib bone. Why did God create Woman from Man’s rib bone when he created Man from dust?

“From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man’s life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.”

“Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart. Support man as the rib cage supports the body.”

“You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side.”

Man represents my image, woman – my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God. So man: treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness, show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.”

It suddenly dawn on me that, women are the ones who are protecting the men emotionally. So Man, please do not abuse woman’s protection. Man, don’t put her down for she is there to stand by your side. Man, do not worry about she being above you for she is never meant to be created that way. Man, hold on tight to the woman and watch out for her, for she is an easily hurt creature. Only when your woman is well-protected, she will then be able to protect your heart and body.
