Disneyland Paris cos it’s MM’s Birthday Today!

It is Mickey Mouse’s birthday today thus I decided to dedicate a blog post on my day at Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland while I was in Paris. We did not reach the parks very early. We first lost our way at the train stations, then decided to visit the Premium Outlets for some shopping before dropping by the parks. Though late, we still enjoyed ourselves for the rest of the day.

Even though, my children were not with us on this trip, I still wanted to visit Disneyland. It is one off my bucket list and I am left with the last to visit, Disneyland Florida, for now and another upcoming one in Shanghai (opening in 2015).

Walt Disney Studios Hot Balloon caught at a train station before reaching DisneylandA must to take a picture just after the entrance.Walt Disney Studios Animation102 Dalmantian's car which Devil rode inMore vehicles that appeared in Walt Disney movies. Can you spot any familiar ones?A foot rester and a quick breakToy Story Land is in Walt Disney Studios in Paris while ToyStory Land is in DisneyLand Park in Hong KongJon said he wants to take a picture. Finally.....Leaving the park and setting foot into Disneyland Paris Park

We missed most of the shows and parades but it is all right. Pictures taken and place visited. I bought a 2 parks 1 day hopper tickets. So off we go to Disneyland park.

Entrance are all the same in the different DisneylandsDisneyland Paris is celebrating 20th anniversary thus the more I wanted to step inThe must have couple pictureThe Main Street While waiting for the parade to start. I bought a caramelized apple. It was very tasty.Camwhore without knowing that my camera is running out of batt. :(This gal was standing right in front of us and she can't wait for the parade to start too. :) Isn't she gorgeous?Fairy Godmothers appearance first in the parade.Sleeping Beauty PrincessSnow White princessand the rest of the princessesPooh Bearand their gangToyStory charactersFinally.... Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the Disney charactersMickey, Minnie and the rest of the charactersMickey Mouse... everyone seems to be crazy now. Frantically waving, especially the childrenOur feet by now are really tired. After sitting for so long, we were quite reluctant to move our butts.Making our way to the front of the castle to grab a seat for the Night parade. The only Sleeping Beauty castle which is pink

There is always something magical about Disneyland whether is nearer in Hong Kong or further away in Paris. Jonathan said, this is the only place with so many princesses (with the little girls dressed in their favorite princesses costumes). We seemed to be teleported into a fairytale land and for a moment, we were detached from the reality world, away from worries and stress. To children, this is a place where dreams come true and for adults like us, it is a place where we can live our dreams (even for the slightest moment). I love the Small, Small World rides, so vibrant. By placing the different countries’ culture in one place shows that everyone can live in harmony. The exciting and ‘life-threatening’ rides are no longer my cup of tea. Maybe I have grown older and became less brave. So glad that Kaitlyn is not here with us else, we would be forced to ride with her.

Of all the Disneylands that I have gone to, I love Tokyo Disneyland best maybe it bought back the most memories. I enjoyed that most even though I do not understand their language. It was my first time travelling with my first  and last batch of Primary 6 graduands (a graduation cum exchange programme to Japan). I recalled the planning of rides the night before looking at all the excited faces. I took the dangerous and lungs-breaking rides with them while they watched the calm and ‘lame’ (to them) Electric Night parade with me. :) So is there any Disneyland trips that leave you with the deepest memories?

In this post, I hereby once again wish Mickey Mouse a very

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Loving the Trains in Paris

RER at Gare St-LazareRER at Gare St-Lazare 1Looking LostDouble decker RERon a RERAnna on a RER

I can’t help but to share more about my observations and feelings on the RER or metro. I caught the metro every day while in Paris. It was the most important form of transport for us. Every morning before going out, I would pull out the metro map and discussed with hub on which line we should take and changed. There were just so many choices that we could make. Sometimes, we bickered insisting that ours were the shortest way. Sometimes, we blamed ourselves when we realized that we had taken the wrong route. After two days of trial and errors, we decided to ask the information counter before we confirmed our routes.

Metro tickets are at €1.70 per trip. If taken together with RER, it will be wiser to buy from the information counter as the staff will combine the ticket price. As compared to Singapore, the price of the ticket does not account for distance. One ticket allows me to travel to any station at any distance. So even if I plan a longer route, I will only waste my precious time.

The interior of each station is unique to make me slow down my every walk and to see more.  There were different interior designs for each station. It’s like an art gallery! Some days, I would see workers in coveralls holding rolls and rolls of posters, changing the big posters in stations with scraper and pail. At times, there would be street musicians playing in the underground. This sight is quite common in Singapore but to see a group of eight musicians playing and promoting their music with different kinds of big instruments is somehow rare.  :) Stations hardly have escalators too. Every day, we had to walk many flights of stairs to reach and out of the metro. A lot of training on our calves. :) Vending machines for snacks and drinks can be found before boarding the metro so which means food is allowed but the metro remains clean.

The metro is not as long as Singapore’s MRT and they have cabins that do not allow passengers to pass through. The doors are not automated for older metro. Passengers have to push a button or lever to open the doors in order to alight or board. An ingenious idea is the lever chairs near the doors (like our olden days’ cinema chairs). When the metro is not crowded, passengers tend to push down the chairs to rest. There is a rule on the metro that these chairs should not be seated if the metro is crowded.

As the metro passed by many stations, graffiti can be seen almost on every walls in the tunnels, all beautifully drawn. At times, sudden blast of music could be heard in the metro, someone personified as Michael Jackson dancing to his hits or just an old man playing on his button accordion. At the end of their performances, they would go around to collect gratuities.

RER is somehow not as exciting as metro in Paris but a good time to enjoy the scenery. Maybe it travels a longer distance and further out of Paris. Pictures above were all taken in a RER on my way to Disneyland Paris. We took the wrong route and got stranded in Gare St-Lazare, one of the main stations. In the end, we had to seek help from the Metro information counter to direct us the shortest way to reach our destination. It was my first time on a double-decker train. Train was pretty empty and clean. :) Since a long journey, we camwhored!

We are on the RER

Train system in Paris is so complicated and definitely needs time for further investigation. Put aside the inter-twining routes and fifteen color-coded lines, I think I am in love with the train systems in Paris with so much to see and feel.

Before CNY – Hair and Meet-up

Though not working full-time, I feel busier but happier. Life is not so hectic. It has became more mundane but fruitful. Jon is happy, Kaitlyn is happy and I have the full evening to accompany Kaiden. The only setback…. I have to work on Sat.

All mornings are now spent with Kaitlyn, helping her with work and enjoying our bonding time.

My house looks neater with my daily vacuuming and packing in the morning.

Sometimes, I will even get to do some laundry. All my work starts in the afternoon after I have sent Kaitlyn to school. Shorter and more flexibility in my working hours leave me more time to treat myself better. (Well, I will not be sure for the coming few weeks when more workshops are confirmed.)

A haircut is one of the ways. I love to walk out of the salon knowing that I looked great. That definitely brightens up my day. That day, I had a workshop and almost wanted to give up my slot which my sister has booked for me in Dec. I was so glad that my stylist, John from SalonVim, accommodated to my schedule of completing my whole haircut experience within 1.5 hours. Initially, wanted to touch up my roots but was not able to due to time constraints. In the end, did a Redken cocktail treatment followed by a trim.

Some thought I repermed my hair but nope… I didn’t. John layered my hair with the perm I did in June last year. With their professional blow dry, thus the permed effect. Totally love it when I left the salon. :)

My second way of treating myself better with is food. I have a food buddy,. Ms Yan. :) She never fails to bring me to patronise good food but this time round, I recommended her. As it was Ms Yan’s birthday month, I suggested to her the highly raved Koh Sushi Bar and Grill at Wisma. Located on the same level as Food Republic, I never expect to find good sushi. We had a good time commenting on the food and deep conversations about our lives. She is such good company to be with. :)

Below are what we ordered and my personal opinions.

chawanmushiChawanmushi: A must have for me in every Japancese restaurant thus no comments on this.

beeffillet

Beef Fillet: The beef fillet is nice but not the kind that oooo me; however, I like the crispy stuff on top of the fillet. Tasted like fried lard to me.

goza

Gyoza: Something that I will strike off from my list. The taste is bland and I think it would be better off trying other recommended stuff.

Pidantofu

Cold Tofu w Pidan: This is heaven. Love, Love, Love this. The combination is wonderful. Must order.

shiokmaki

Finally the legendary highly raved, Shiok Maki: Does not give that WOW feeling but I must say, it tastes really shiok with the flying fish roe bursting in my mouth. Must order.

My advice is to go with a bigger group, then you can try other makis on the menu. There are a few recommended ones. Would like to try their crappy maki. :) Try to be there early. That day, we met at about 6pm. The restaurant was quite empty but queue started to form when it’s about 7pm.

Goodbye 2012 and Hello 2013

Time flies and the year is going to end in a few hours. I would like to take this moment to recall and reflect on what have happened over the year.

1. Kaitlyn was Primary 1

Kaitlyn started her life as a Primary 1 student. She has always been a crybaby (just like me when I was young), I have seen her grown over the year. The teachers have done a great job taking care of her. I am so glad that Jamie and my mil were around for her during the first six months of her primary school life, preparing pretty bento sets for her recess and helping her with her English and Chinese Spelling. I am also very thankful for the help rendered by my family side to pick her up after school when Jon is not available. :)

2. Kaiden attended Kindergarten without her sister.

Kaiden is more independent than Kaitlyn thus I am so glad that he is taking well attending school on his own. Over the year, he has grown more mischievous. Wonder is it because he is boy or what. He is so boisterous, not slowing down for a minute. Mrs. Lim, her teacher, said that it could be that I have not been giving him enough attention thus attention seeking. Guilty on my part, it’s true that my attention was on Kaitlyn as a lot of monitoring was to be done on her school work.

3. I am back at work.

Staying home to take care of the children for so many years, going back to work was a struggle initially. I made new friends and interacted with many, many good colleagues. I enjoy working with them and especially with the children. I have learnt a lot over the year especially from the little ones. It is also a joy to see them grow and to grow with them.  On the other hand, I felt guilty for not giving enough attention to my children anymore. Not being able to help Kaitlyn much with her work as I was totally drained out at night after work. Not being able to spend enough time with Kaiden causing him to act out.

4. Embarked on the route to book editing

I took up the challenge to join a team as one of the editors to edit a set of Mathematics books which will be launching in 2013. It was my first time doing an editing job and I must thank people from VM for the opportunity to learn from them. Tiring with work and to continue with the editing after work, the team was very patient and accommodating to my work schedule. I had a glimpse of the books, the covers and layout of the books look great. Can’t wait for them to be distributed to different schools and to the hands of the teachers and students.

5. Went for a Thyroid surgery

My heart was palpitating as Jon walked side by side to accompany me to the surgery theatre on our wedding anniversary to have my thyroid removed. We were laughing our heads off about how comical we were and acting like male and female leads in a Hong Kong serial. I am so thankful that with many blessings from a lot of people, it was just an inflammation and only one side of my thyroid was removed. Parents were worried as the case had been dragging since May from a government hospital. Mother sourced for a specialist in Mount E, which did a really good job on the surgery within 1 week upon seeing him. The difference between a government and private. :)

6. I submitted

After thinking for almost a year. I decided to leave the service. Supposedly to feel happy, I had mix feelings. I love my job but at the moment, my priority is my family. I want to spend more time with Kaitlyn to help her in her work and to spend more time with Kaiden to undo what has been done. Staying home full-time is not what I have planned for. I will be taking up a freelance job using the time to engage myself while Kaitlyn is in school.

Welcoming 2013…. My resolutions

1. Start life anew in my new job.

I will be joining VM as one of the Senior Trainers, training students in the center and schools on conceptual thinking in Mathematics. I am not sure how everything will turn out but since I am embarking on it, my aim is to help every child like Mathematics in basic and to do well in their tests and exams. VM is really nice to fit the classes according to my schedule and giving me the autonomy to work from home on some days of the weeks. I can’t wait to see my new group of students starting next week. :)

2. Prepare Kaiden for Primary 1 in 2014

Kaiden will be enjoying his last year of kindergarten. I hope I can spend some time preparing him for Primary 1 and to kick off some of his bad habits. He has a lot of bad habits and I shall not mention them. Some are pretty gross…. LOL

3. Help Kaitlyn to build up her Maths foundation and confidence level

Kaitlyn is quite weak in Mathematics. I hope that I could use my expertise to help her understand Maths concepts better and to let her feel more confident in the things she does.

4. Shed some kilos off and have a good diet

I hope to take up a sport to shed some kilos off and to tone up my body. Probably to join my mother for yoga classes or to take up a family sport. Jon just renewed his SAFRA membership and hopefully, we can allocate one day each week to work out together. I hope to take better care of my body by having less suppers and healthier food.

5. Have a family day

Saturday and Sundays this year always ended up at my parent’s place lazing around and doing nothing. I hope to allocate either Saturday or Sunday as a family day where we will bring the kids out for fun. Be it visiting the park, having brunch, cafe hopping or the beach. Something for the kids to enjoy the nature rather hogging on to the TV and iPad.

6. Spending and savings plan

I normally do not keep track of my spendings. The new year, I hope to save more with some goals in mind. One of the big goals is to save for a major trip to US in 2014. This has been in Jon’s family discussion since last year and we shall make it happen in 2014. Save! Save! Save! Not forgetting my another major splurge, a Chanel flap. :) Hoping to save for one this year.

7. Organise my life

Instead of living on what comes tomorrow, I hope to plan my life in a more systematic way. Getting a pretty schedule book to jot down my important schedule (still prefer pen and paper :)) and blog to reflect on my life. This year has been a busy year that I do not have time to meet up with my friends, spend time on my crafting and even blogging. I hope to spare some time in life, to meet up with good friends at least once a month and to create a craft  and blog at least once a week. I want to start documenting my life thus embarking on the journey of ‘Project Life’, a fuss free scrapbooking, to journal and document my happenings on a monthly basis.

8. Have my own family trip

Jon’s family without fail will have an overseas trip at least once a year. This year, we went Hong Kong together, a group of 13 people. I hope to have the chance to have my own family trip with my parents and siblings. Shall we have one this year?

9. My wish for my family in 2013…..

is for everyone to be happy, healthy and to be thankful for every moment spent together.

A very Happy New Year to everyone. :)

My last post for year 2012.

It’s 10 Years Already?

Times flies. Just a blink of an eye, we are married for 10 years. I wish that we can have so many more 10 years to be together. To see our children grow up and have their own children, to continue to support each other in our decisions, to help each other achieve our goals and when we are old, to nag at each other to have our meals, to remind each other to take our medictions :), to do morning walks hand in hand… so many more things that I want to complete my life with you.

The weekend before our anniversary, we decided to go out for our twosome dinner. So glad that MIL is willing to let the children had a sleepover. Jonathan and I spent the evening strolling along Marina Bay and had a wonderful dinner at Todai. LOL And we actually decided to dress ourselves in same colour. :)

We went for window shopping at Marina Square then took a slow stroll to Marina Bay Sands taking the Helix Bridge. It was my first time on the bridge. :) Simply love the scenery.

Been to Marina Bay Sands a few times, but this was the first time I actually spotted their ice skating rink. It’s been ages since I last ice skated.

Though romantic, we did not get on the boat ride. Somehow, we felt really good just slowing down our pace and watch people and things passed by us in a slow manner.

Jonathan likes going to Todai for the range of food. Also if I can remember, we used to visit Todai when we were in the states too. However, one period of time, it just disappeared from Arizona and Jonathan is really happy when Singapore opened a chain.

Sashimi…. Jonathan’s favourite.

This is my must haves when I go Todai. :) Simply heaven!!!

How can we miss out the oysters and crabs?

Check out how enjoyable Jonathan is. :)

Thanks for the wonderful dinner and night. I totally enjoyed it. As for the pressie, I love it.

May we have so many more 10 years to share our happiness, unhappiness, our joys and sorrows, our ups and downs.

Relationship or Marriage? Ain’t not expert!!! Part 2

Continuing from previous’ post. Too many quotes for me to share and comment. Do you like the quotes? More to come. :)

第十二集 感恩她把我們的婚姻變成不完美。Episode 12 – So thankful that ‘she’ has made our marriage not perfect.

Sometimes when a marriage is too perfect, something is bound to happen. Therefore, when a rock hits the marriage, the couple will reflect on a lot of things, their love for each other, are they still the same as before? Then it will be another learning process for each.

挽回老公的心,保護我的家,我要忘記,全部都忘記,為了萌萌、為了我的家。To retrieve husband’s heart and protect my home, I chose to forget everything for the sake of the child and the family.

So typical of a housewife. I think if it were in my case, that would be the first thing to do, to pretend nothing happens as long as the husband comes home. But is that really what I will do and what will most woman do? When a needle is in the heart, it must be removed to ease the pain, isn’t it? Moreover with the high qualifications of a woman lately, supporting a family is no longer an issue. :). The issue would be how well can the child take it.

第十三集 比外遇更可惡的,是欺騙!Episode 13 – What is scarier than marital affairs, it is cheating!

Come to think of it, if the man just has an affair, return home, nothing happens, it’s cool. If the man has an affair, comes home, create more and more lies to cover the affair. That’s so not cool. Totally unforgiving!

如果我們兩個之間,只剩下責任、尊重,那也許就不是愛了。If the marriage / relationship is only left with responsibility and respect, then it’s probably no longer love.

I am totally in love with this statement and I think is true to some point. It is a lot of responsiblities and respect, to the family, to children, to friends and to each other. I am sure a lot of the marriages are only held on by these two aspects. Sad but I totally agreed that many marriages are moving along this line. When was the last time your husband showed you the concern? When was the last time your husband bought you something? When was the last time your husband spent quality time with you? When was the last time your husband has showered a compliment? Lastly, when was the last time your husband has tried to ease your load? Oh my… I am moving into the five languages of love. Hmmm wonder what my language of love is?

 Quotes from Episode 14

也許我並不是那麼失敗,也許再苦的生活中,還是會有甜美的時刻。也許甜美的時刻,我不需要等別人給我,我能自己去創造。I may not be such a failure, no matter how bitter life is, there will still be some sweet memories. These sweet memories, I do not need someone to give me for I can create it myself.

So life is sweet, future is sweet too if we learn how to create our own sweet memories. :) I like it.

Quote from episode 15

對不起算什麼交代!Saying sorry is not a way to account matters.

Yea. I like this too. So what if I kept saying sorry. It does not make any difference and it does not solve the problem. It is only a way to end the problem hoping that it will not resurface.

Quote from Episode 16

最好的報復,就是成功!The best revenge is to be successful.

How many of us can be successful? LOL!!

Quote from episode 17

嫉妒已經使你更醜了 Jealousy has already made you uglier.

Who has never been jealous? I feel that if being jealous and just let that bad feeling dies off, that’s fine. But if one is jealous and does things to hurt the person who is causing it, then it’s really ugly.

Quote from episode 18

我拼命在想,他還愛不愛我?他為什麼不愛我?為什麼離開我?可是我從來沒有想過,要問自己,我還愛他嗎?She kept thinking if her husband still loves her? Why he does not love her? Why he wants to leave her? But it has never occur to her if she still love him

Okay, at this point of time, the protagonist finally straightened out her thoughts. Totally, when something happens, why do we always want to put ourselves as the victims. Turn the table around, ask ourselves if we are the victims? Overly concerned about how people treat us, ask ourselves how we treat others.

Quote from episode 19

我為什麼要讓那些傷害我的人繼續控制我,讓他們影響我的心情,讓他們破壞我的快樂,甚至扭曲我的性格。Why do we want to let those people who hurt us control us, affect our mood and let them destroy our happiness and even changed our character?

The potagonist has changed her outlook hoping to seduce back her husband only then to realise that she is not the person she used to be. Stop sticking in the mud if you are one. The people who hurt us may be enjoying their good times; therefore, we must show them we can live our lives to fullest by being ourselves.

當我眼睛只有盯著目標的時候,通常會忽略身邊的人事物。When we are only focusing on one thing, we tend to neglect those things around us.

Sometimes to reach the target, we would need to scarifice some things. Step back sometimes to see the big picture would be one way of meeting the target without hurting other people’s feeling. :)

Quote from Episode 21

當你對一個女人說你愛她的時候,她就是你的責任了!你就有那個責任保護她,不要讓她受傷。When a guy pledges to a woman that he loves her, she has inevidently became your responsiblity. It is therefore also your responsibility to protect her and make sure that she doesn’t get hurt.

To all the men, think before you pledge. Telling a woman, ‘I Love You’ is definitely more than what it takes.

Quote from episode 22

是你老婆對你的愛,才讓你在外面風度翩翩;是你老婆對你的愛,才讓你在外面自信滿滿、走路有風。It is your wife’s love that let you looked handsome and swift. It is your wife’s love that let you filled with confidence that even when you walk, there would be breeze.

I am so in love with this quote even it may not be true. I just find it really hilarious. Nice compliment for all the wives.

Finally quotes from last episode and there are many nice ones that I like.

我希望妳一定要記住別人對你的好,不要記住別人對你的不好。I hope that you will remember the good way people treat you and not the bad.

Life is like that, we will always remember all the bad things that people do to us and usually deeply etched in our memories for many many years. Take time to recall the same person, I am sure he or she has also done many good things to us. :)

我們不是婚姻的附屬品,反而婚姻只是我們人生的一部份而已。We are not an accessories to our marriage. Instead, marriage is only part of our life.

Marriage is a process that most people will go through and for those who chose not to go through this process, they are also feeling happy and enjoying their lives to their fullest. :)

愛是什麼?其實愛就是願意許下承諾,而且決心一定要做到。What is love? Actually love is willing to make the vow (wedding vows) and commit to it.

Hmmm I can’t even remember my wedding vows. For those who can’t too. Let me do a recollection…

“Will you, __________________ take this woman/ man  ______________ to be your wedded wife / husband, to live together in the legal estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others, be faithful to her, so long as you both shall live?”

I believe that during the vows, everyone pledged earnestly. I am glad I am going through the vows again. For those who have forgotten, look through once more and silently said ‘I will’ to rekindle your love. :)

With all the quotes, have your reflected on your relationships or marriage? I definitely have. Never take a wonderful marriage for granted. Even a good man will have a change of heart, may be the same case for woman. (All right, I sound dejected. LOL Of course, my man is not doing it.) However, from a failed marriage, each must have learnt or gained something. I remembered the protagonist said, “I am glad that I have left my husband now, imagine what would happen if when we are old and on his death bed, he is calling out the other girl’s name while holding my hands, then I would really be devastated.”

So did the husband and wife in the show got together in the end? I thought they would when the ex-husband seeked for her forgiveness. Who knows, her statement was, “But, I can’t go back to the past” totally dashed the ex-husband’s hopes. So what exactly happened? :) Another man has entered her life. :)

Taiwan Trip 2010 Day 6

Finally, I am updating my last 2nd day of the trip. I will not be doing a travelogue of my last day as it was a short day to departure.

On day 6, we were in Taipei and was really happy to check in Taipei Grand Hyatt for the last night which is just a stone throw away from 101 Shopping Mall. A five star hotel at last. :)

In the morning, we visited the usual places of interests in Taipei.

We then visited National Palace Museum. No photos as all were crowded around the exhibits. It’s a place that holds the world’s largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasurers with almost 5000 years of history. We then proceeded to Yehliu to take a look at the natural rock formations. We were looking for this in Yehliu, The Queen’s Head.

Walking towards our destination, we saw some cute statues along the pathway. Couldn’t resist and started taking photos with them. :)

Okay, definitely trying to act cute. LOL

Walking on, I decided to take some scenery photos with Jonathan’s pro camera. Wanted to try out my photography skills also which I doubt I have.

What do you all think? I think not bad for first timer. Sometimes, it’s really nice to have a good camera on hand. :)

Finally a picture of mummy and daddy. :)

Picture of my daddy. People always say daughters are usually closer to daddy. My daddy is fun to be with cos he always has many interesting stories to share. LOL

Oh great! We found the head!!!! Hmm only certain angle looks like the queen’s head. :)

By the time we finished visiting Yehliu, it was about 5pm and the next destination was the YangMingShan TienLai Hotspring. Didn’t go for the hotspring as it was really cold. What did we do? We had coffee at the coffee house listening to gossips.

Taiwan is really a nice place to go to especially during the winter. Loves the cool weather since we don’t get it at all in Singapore. Planning for another one end of the year with family members. Hope we can all go together. :)

Taiwan Trip 2010 Day 3

Day 3 was on 25 December 2010 thus was Christmas Day. It’s great to be able to celebrate with family members. Jamie and Victor had also planned Christmas party for the two kids over at Singapore.

The first stop we arrived was the 日月潭 (Sun Moon Lake). Remembered 5 years ago that I went with Jonathan, that was a beautiful lake. I think is due to the quake that has left the place in ruins and on the mist of rebuilding. Why is it known as Sun Moon Lake? Seems like in the northern part of the “Guang Hua Island” (in the middle of the lake) looks like the shape of a sun and the southern part like the shape of a moon. We visited the 文武庙 (WenWu Temple) which worships Confucius, Guan Gong and Yue Fei.

Picture description from L to R: The entrance of the temple, The temple staff explaining the procedures of the praying, The well-wishes that we could place in the temple, the entrance from the other view.

Since we were given quite some time to wander around, how could we miss taking pictures of the scenery. :)

Yea to family picture. Thanks to the tour guide who is “well-versed” in photography, we got this nice picture taken. :)The three little children from the same tour group. Seeing them, I missed my two children at home. :(

Can’t remember when was the last time I took picture with Daddy….

Sista with Daddy. :)

Leaving our footprints, we walked to the bus. Could not resist the Taiwan sausages stalls just beside the bus. :) It was quite a long journey to the next destination. Took a pit stop for coffee and snacks…. and I caught someone in the act.

Hahaha… That’s my tourguide. Check out his equipment for phototaking. He carried these camera stuff throughout the journey.

Finally, we reached the 美浓客家村 (Mei Non Hakka Village). Purpose? To know more about the Hakka culture. Definitely the easiest to know them is through their food. We had a sumptuous Hakka lunch following by strolling around the village.

Everyone was so curious about this old man who could create music with different household items. The most amazing one to me was the toothpaste. “Impressive” is the word Kaitlyn uses. :) Besides that, he appeared in different TV shows and one of the mediacorp show had him featured.

Dropped by the 85 Building for a city sight and mountains. The elevator easily took the group up to the 75th deck in just 43 secs which is 600 feet per minute. *Fast*

Oh before I moved on, we were at Kaoshiung. So we must visit the Love River. Took a 20minutes boat ride without taking any nice pictures. :( Too shaky and cold to hold my cam.

Daddy and mummy before we boarded the boat.

The sun set early due to the season which meant it was time for dinner. Fun days always passed by extremely fast. :) For the past two nights, we were at the night market. The third night, we visited a shopping area cum night market. :) We were only given an hour half to roam the place. Totally not enough for hardcore shoppers like us. After we reached the hotel, we took a cab down to 新崛江夜市 (New Chueh Chiang Night Market) for 2nd round of shopping. :)

Sister and mummy checking out the socks for they were really cheap. Probably due to the weather. :)

Day 4 was really short cos most of the time was spent travelling on the bus. We will be in Hualian on Day 4. Check back soon. :)

Realization

Oh my, I just realised that I have not updated my blog for so long? Ever since Jonathan came back from work and no news about next posting, everyday seems to be busy with the Kiddos and activities.

So many stuffs to update -
1) Family Taiwan trip which was fully sponsored by my dearest dad in December 2010. :)

2) CNY gatherings from day 1 to 3

3) Kaitlyn’s birthday celebration

4) My new buys :)

5) ES Creations and ES’ new launches which will be happening next and the week after.

Oh gosh…..

How I wish there were more than 24 hours a day.

Happy 8th Wedding Anniversary

Awww…. there are so many anniversaries to remember and today marks our 8th anniversary for wedding. It is the day in 2002 where we held our Chinese customary and dinner before we embarked for our 2-years US journey.

Thank you for all the care and concern you have given to me and the sacrifices to the family (being away from us). We all miss you. :) Hahaha… oh ya, the 7th year is already over without any itch… LOL Hope our 8th year will be a blissful year. Love you, Pucchi Daddy. :)
